Compassionate counseling for growth and healing.
At Chapter One Counseling, we are committed to creating a supportive and healing space where individuals and families from all backgrounds can navigate challenges, find clarity, and begin again-one chapter at a time. Our mission is to provide individuals and families therapeutic support using evidenced-based treatments with a person-centered approach that nurture's hope while building resilience.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience providing mental and behavioral health services in communities across Connecticut. I hold a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, with a focus on Behavior Analysis, from Eastern Connecticut University. I completed my graduate program through Sacred Heart University where I earned my Masters of Social Work.
I completed my post-graduate work at an Applied Behavioral Analysis clinic where I provided support to children and their caregivers impacted by Autism Spectrum and other Neurodevelopmental disorders. During this time I specialized in assessments, peer to peer social groups, caregiver support groups, and individualized evidenced-based treatments. I also used a community-based approach in advocating for accommodations, providing education to local community providers, and coordinating care with various providers and other identified supports. I continued building my clinical skills with generalist populations including children, adolescents/teens, adults, and older adults in outpatient therapy working with in-home community programs, office-based services, and telehealth mental health services using a variety of therapeutic approaches.
I believe in an individualized approach to client-care to best fit your needs. In practice, I focus on building a compassionate non-judgmental space to help clients cope with symptoms, navigate changes, and foster a greater sense of fulfillment in life.
I have experience treating problems with anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorders, depression, life changes/transitions, grief and loss, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, chronic illness, trauma including PTSD and complex trauma symptoms, family conflict, parenting/caregiving challenges, stress, and post-partum anxiety and depression.
I offer a variety of evidence-based counseling services including cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction, dialectical behavior therapy, grief therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also specialize in treatment for populations including children and adolescents, individuals across the lifespan, families, LGBTQ+ communities, and neurodivergent affirming support for neurodivergent individuals.
I am current accepting new clients and have evening availability open for telehealth appointments.
Chapter One Counseling is currently self-pay only and can provide super-bills for clients to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement.
